I saw 77 Ravens today. (approximately - '35' of them were in a giant swarm, so it was hard to count).

I wonder if they're trying to tell me something?

Soooooo I don't have mono (Thank the Goddess), but I do have Strep, the Flu, and a possible ear infection WOOHOO. So not excited.

So I don't have a voice really at all today (Happy Valentines Day to me) but they started me on antibiotics today.

But I had a realization yesterday when I got an e-mail from my friend John from high school. For the past few weeks, whenever people have asked me how I am, my response was always "busy." And I am. So I think this was Goddesses way of saying SIT DOWN AND RELAX!!!!!!!

So I am. Laying in bed and relaxing. I promise. <3

I might have mono.

The doctors are ging to do a blood test in the morning.

But if its not mono, then its at the very least a bad case of the flu.

Just thought I would let everyone know.

So I was in class today, and my professor brought in his Alaskan Malamute named Seamus.

The puppy walked over to me, and layed down at my feet. And stayed there the whole class except for when he decided he neededto sit next to me so I could reach his ears better.

So fucking sweet.

Just thought I'd share.

Those kind of feelings

I just wanted to say -

I love gay clubs.

I love dancing.

I love men.

I love Mrs Chynna Buffet.

And um, this weekend pretty much rocked. Sexy men (VERY sexy men), drag queens (both days) staying out late with said drag queens, loud music, that THUMPATHUMPA -

Sometimes I forget just how much I love being gay.

Some feelings I just dont want to forget. Ever. Like the kind of things you feel like if you forget those exact feelings or thoughts that it changes your entire experience, and remembering them can change your life.

This weekend was full of them.

Those kinds of feelings.

Blessed be.

A few things of note before the bomb

Well, "the bomb" in this case would be my giant post about last year (and the beginning of this year). But as I am still in production of this epic work, here is my temporary observations on things.

Today in US religions class we watched a movie (well, a documentary) called "White Shamans and Plastic Medicine Men." I thought it would be pretty cool - we're currently learning about "Native American Religions."

Well. I had another thing coming. It was one of the most offensive things I have ever watched. It was so amazingly biased, I wasn't even sure what was going on. They talked to two different groups of people - White people who followed a shamanic/tribal/earth based religion, and people who were descended from Native American ancestors. But they picked some of the more "out-there" people on the white end, and it basically ended up as an attack on anyone other than Native Americans who practiced a new-age or shamanic religion.

On a brighter note, I saw "I Am Legend" today, which I have wanted to see since I first saw an advertisement for it ages ago. I won't spoil anything, but it was excellent. Scary, and a bit of a cryer, but an excellent movie.

So that is all for now, but I will post again soon (with luck).

Blessed Be.

Study of Literature

For my Study of Literature class, I have a group panel discussion due on Tuesday about Gender Studeis and Queer Theory. The book is very outdated, and many of the ideas are old and/or obsolete. The presentation is an hour and a half long, extremely in depth and arduous, and I should have started working on it lpng before I did. I've been working for 15 hours so far and have barely gotten anything done. Stressed, annoyed, and having multiple panic attacks.

Getting ready to go to sleep - I reached the point where I stared at the same paragraph for ten minutes and had no clue what I had just read.

Just thought I'd share.

Goddess, grant me strength.

Samhain

Today is the sacred holiday of Samhain. Its the end of the Witch's year, the Witch's New Year, a time for change and growth, but more importantly - rebirth. Today we gather under the boughs of the Yew Tree in worship of the Goddess, mourning of the God, and in reverence of our ancestors and those who came before us.

I'm very excited.

Four rituals to do today - one solitary, to do some work I've been putting off. But I decided that I would do it today. Then an open circle, a coven circle, and a dedication of a new member of the coven.

Again, I'm very exited.

I had a coven meeting yesterday where I bought my new runes, and we were working with them. Since then, my third eye has been so open, I can feel and see things. But then, thats Samhain for you. I haven't been doing divination lately, so using my new runes (flourite, my favorite stone <3<3<3) sorta threw my third eye open. SO today should be a very fun day.

We stand to the west, looking to the gate.

Blssings of the Goddess and God.

The world is a very interesting place. Things are going on all around me, and they are crazy things too. People are fighting, people are depressed, people are sick. People I care about, in fact. People I thought would last forever are breaking up. People I never thought would get together are getting together.

And then there's me.

I'm sitting here in my World Religions class, learning about Gandhi, reading some LiveJournals, looking at Facebooks. And I'm happy. Not super extatic OMG PARTY TIME happy, of course. But I'm happy.

But there's nothing happening.

I'm sitting here in my happy little bubble watching my happy little TV shows having happy time. While everyone around me is falling apart.

So I want to help.

I know I can't do a lot, and that in most cases I'm not even a little bit involved.

And I know that a lot of people may not reeeeeally like me right now.

But if I can help, even if its just by talking, let me know.

Blessings of the Divine be upon you.

At World's End

First of all, the movie was AMAZING. Stay beyond the credits, there is a scene you will not want to miss.

WARNING - SPOILERS MAY LIE BEYOND THIS POINT (although mingled with my own thoughts)

So I went to go see Pirates of the Caribbean 3 - At World's End this evening. I would like to begin by saying that this was easily the best of the three, and one of my favorite movies that I have ever seen. I generally get bored at some point during a movie and begin to get drowzy, but that did not happen even once. Non-stop action, drama, intrigue, betrayal, counter-betrayal, speculation... makes my blood boil and sends chills down my spine.

The action scenes were incredible. The sword fighting was spectacularly done, and abundant, yet never got dull. They found innovative ways to keep the fights exciting, between cannons and swinging from ropes to standing atop masts, and with all different sorts of swords ad styles mixed with different types of fighters, they really did an excelent jobs, and my kudos to the fight coreographer.

Then was the betrayal. Keeping track of who was on which side at which point in time was not only exciting, but fun, and added a good deal of mystery to the plot.

EXTRA SPOILER WARNING

Callypso. Oh my Goddess, Callypso (literally - the Goddess Callypso). Seeing her in the movie was amazing, and such a treat. I relly enjoyed the way they created her, and a lot of what they did with her. She was absolutely amazing, and a shock as well.

And now my random notes. It reminded me somewhat of One Piece, especially the scene where all the ships are raising flags, and each flag is different. I thought it was very cool. I have also copletely changed my wedding plans to inclue me and my groom fighting off sea people and merchants of the East India Trading Company with swords while a Pirate Captain conducts the ceremony. Although the sword fight is the important part. :-D

Also, I think I may have been a Pirate in a past life. I've always ound it fascinating, I love the sea SO much, I have always had an affinity with the God Poseidon, I can fight with a sword (any my specialty is the Scimitar and/or Taiji). I have the loyalty of a Sailor to his captain. I'm gay, and it was a known fact that most pirates were gay, simply because there was no other option. And it was just a feeling that I got while watching the movie. I coud be wrong. But its something I would like to investigate further at some point.

Thank you for listening to my amblings, and enjoy your movie.

Hearts and Handshakes!!
